Initial Thoughts:
Paris is a big city, therefore, I believe there will be lots of pollution. But, Paris also has other physical features like the French Alps, and the Mediterranean. I think the pollution level in the French Alps will be less than in the city because there are not as many people living there, and that means not as many chances for pollution to happen.
Adapting to the environment:
France is a place where people need to adapt to the environment to survive. For example, in the Rhône River Valley, there are many floods in the springtime because of the snowmelt from the bordering French Alps. I think people have adapted to the environment, especially in Paris, because it is a city with paved roads, and buildings, and to build these things, you would first have to adapt to the physical features to build off them. This is why Paris is adapted to the environment.
Adapting the environment to better fit peoples lives:
In Paris, one way adapting the environment better fits peoples lives is how there are cars and taxi's in the city, which is better than some other places in France where you would have to walk, for example the French Alps. According to the photographs on the bottom of the page, many cars are used in Paris, which is also starting to become a pollution problem.
The positive and negative affect people have on the environment:
Adapting to the environment in Paris has a negative effect on the pollution though. Water pollution is a big problem in France at the moment because Paris is becoming more of an industrial city, and is acquiring industrial contaminants. The farming has caused agricultural nitrates, and from a big city like Paris, there is a lot of waste. 18.7 million tons of waste per year to be exact. All of these pollutions are polluting the water.
Paris has also been trying to diminish the pollution made from cars by making a "car ban". It means that only cars with even license plates can drive at certain hours or days, and cars with odd plate drive the opposite days that the evens can. The driving ban started because pollution levels were dangerously high for 5 days in a row.

Revised Thinking: Before I started studying Paris, I didn't really know what to think about how big the city would be, and had guessed it wouldn't be too much of a major city, but I was terribly wrong. Paris is such a big city, that the traffic pollution level is very high, and toxic. This makes me infer that many people are immigrating into Paris, instead of leaving, because the population levels are getting higher and higher, which makes more pollution. Overall I think Paris's interaction with the environment isn't very healthy for the environment because, although Paris has tried to lower the pollution levels with a car ban, its not helping very much, and there is more and more pollution every day.
